This Continuing Education class is open to practitioners of Structural Integration who have graduated from an approved IASI school.
Dr. Rolf presented the logic of the Rolfing ten-series as balancing a system of relationships within a human being relevant to the environment that includes gravity. Being able to acutely see these relationships fosters refined work with less effort for the practitioner and maximizes the potential for sustained integration in the client.
This workshop provides an opportunity to energize your relationship with the ten-series. By deepening and clarifying movement and manipulation for each session, practitioners will be able to refine and tailor interventions to support each client’s individualized needs.
The workshop focuses on strategies pertaining to awareness and participation so that clients are able to holistically experience the ten-series, along with its application throughout their daily lives.
Rebecca and Tessy will help participants strategize the ten-series for special conditions and injuries. The use of movement to further session goals will be cultivated.
About the Instructors
Tessy is an Advanced Rolfing Instructor. She received her BA in Environmental Biology in 1976. Once introduced to Rolfing SI in 1979, she was inspired to take her science and wholism explorations into the human realm. Rolfing was a natural pathway for this. She became an Advanced Rolfing instructor in 2002 and maintains a practice in Baltimore, MD.
Rebecca Carli-Mills became interested in somatic movement studies while pursuing B.A. and M.F.A. degrees in dance. She earned certification in Rolf Movement® Integration in 1987, followed by Rolfing® and Advanced Rolfing® certifications. In 1994, Rebecca graduated from the Pennsylvania Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and joined the Rolf Movement faculty. Rebecca's understanding of gravity and movement potential has been enriched by her continuing studies with French movement expert, Hubert Godard, Ph.D. Additionally, she draws from training in craniosacral, energetic osteopathy, dance kinesiology and a variety of somatic movement modalities. Rebecca has a full-time practice in Chevy Chase MD.
