Details:Generally following the trail of larger visceral ligaments associated with the Gastrointestinal Track, SVLB offers a complementary approach to visceral mobilization rooted in respectful direct technique and hands-on skills familiar to a Structural Integrator.

Also familiar to an Rolfer, the viscera associated with SVLB are conceptually organized within the same general architectural framework of Dr. Rolf's sessions 1-6. Structural-Visceral Integration for the Low-Back, Pelvis & Abdomen (SVLB) primarily balances the lumbar spine, sacrum and sacroiliac joints with the parietal peritoneum and organs of the gastrointestinal system. This class is about the container and the contents. In concert with keeping a global structural perspective, SVLB is further contextualized with the lumbodorsal fascia and lower extremities. Special attention is paid to the articular system's distal connection into the feet and toes.

Appropriate for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike, SVLB offers a 'Combined Technique' approach to fascial manipulation. Membranous and visceral structures covered include the peritoneum, cecum, ascending colon, hepatic flexure, liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen, splenic flexure, descending colon, sigmoid colon, urinary bladder, lesser and greater omentum, root of the mesentery and the fascia of Told.

Bridging the anatomical gap, Structural-Visceral Integration is systems anatomy approach to Structural Integration. Appreciating the Whole, SVLB is respectful of the gut-brain axis, neuroscience, pain science, microbiome, and biopsychosocial considerations.
