Details:Finding appropriate span and support in through the core of the body, is a hallmark of Rolfing, and inclues the visceral core, from the palate through the pelvic floor. Yet, it can be one of the more challenging areas in which to work. We will explore the structures of the mouth and throat, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, focusing on the intersections of visceral and musculoskeletal structures. This work will held held in the context of full session work and will allow practitioners to deepen both their ten series work as well as advanced sessions. Students will have the opportunity to participate in palpation labs as well as to work with these structures in short sessions, with an emphasis on creating integrated interventions with each other.

Duffy Allen has been a member of the Basic Faculty at RISI since 2005. She began her studies in the anatomy of the head, neck and thorax while still an undergraduate in the 1980's. Since becoming a Rolfer, she has continued to be intregued by the interplay of the musculoskeletal system with other systems of the body. When teaching, she is committed to transmitting the work in a way that lends itself to integration into both the students personal embodiment as well as their practice.
