Dr. Rolf would often speak of "The Line" as the highest goal of Structural Integration. She believed that its embodiment would kindle what she called "evolutionary energies" whose awakening would result in a transformation of consciousness. Like a call and an echo heard down through the ages, her words about body and breath are almost exact reflections of teachings about body and breath in some of the earliest texts of Buddhism, the words of one of which, the Satipatthana Sutta, are directly attributed to the historical Buddha himself. Applying Dr. Rolf's vision of The Line to sitting meditation practices radically catalyzes those practices and dramatically accelerates the process of spiritual transformation and personal healing that can occur. In this Zoom gathering we will address how an embodied exploration of The Line liberates the body's latent evolutionary energies and how that liberation affects consciousness. We will also present basic protocols for a sitting meditation practice based on Dr. Rolf's vision.
