Lisa Branic Hello Rolfers! My name is Lisa Branic and I am asking for your support to serve on the DIRI Board of Directors.
I first received Rolfing more than 15 years ago when I was debilitated by back pain. Receiving Rolfing was a game changer for me for sure. I had considered leaving corporate America for some time, and in 2017 finally decided to make that transition and attend DIRI in Boulder. Fast forward to the present, I am so grateful to do this work and I am continually delighted to give the Rolfing experience back to others. I still do consulting and coaching for public health and Fortune 500 companies and would love to bring those skills to our school.
My reasons for seeking a Board position: - I feel compelled to give back to the school that has given me so much personally and professionally.
- I want to do my part to ensure that Rolfers and DIRI will be around 100+ years from now.
-
I envision some big changes in order for DIRI to thrive, and I want to be a part of bringing DIRI to the next level; greater public recognition of Rolfing, growth and accessibility.
My relevant background, skills and experience: -
It is in my training, and my DNA, to be proactive and forward-thinking. My values include learning, exploring, building aligned communities directed toward accomplishing great things, and clearing obstacles to achievement. Combining these values with my ability to perceive and look beyond industry trends, I can bring a fresh and pragmatic approach to the challenges DIRI faces.
-
I am adept at aligning strategy to vision and mission, and have expertise in organizing and implementing steps necessary to accomplish the goals on that path. I spent 15 years working with/being part of the executive teams at University of Maryland Global Campus (formerly UMUC) and Rosetta Stone where I did just that. I helped leadership align vision and strategy to what projects and operational initiatives would be undertaken and then my group transparently delivered those projects. I am good at ascertaining which are the most effective projects to pick first and know how to focus on them given the current resources. If we need more resources, I know how to address that by strategizing means to grow the resources (not from members).
- My skills will enhance our Board by bringing years of business savvy and experience with both for-profit and non-profit educational organizations, as well as dealing with state and federal regulations, all of which are necessary to advance DIRI’s current Strategic Plan.
With Rolfing clients, we assess, strategize, intervene, reassess, and repeat in order to create more alignment. In the business world I have done the same thing for years: my strengths lie in seeing the big picture, breaking that down into projects, focusing on priorities, and staying true to a timeline to complete each project. I can also do that for DIRI.
As a Rolfer I understand the challenges we all face building our practices in the ever-changing landscape of our field, and the relationship between our individual challenges as practitioners to the urgent mission of moving DIRI itself to the next level. By moving DIRI forward, we ALL move forward. I would love to see EVERY Rolfer with a thriving practice, expansion so the world recognizes Rolfing, and for DIRI to continue to lead the way in the field of SI. I would appreciate your support so that I can be part of the team to do this.
If, for any reason you have questions prior to casting your vote, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at lisa@b-aligned.com Thank you for your consideration, Lisa Branic Certified Rolfer®, BCSI, MBA, BS Industrial Engineering, PMP, ACC
"I am endorsing Lisa Branic to become a member of the DIRI Board of Directors. When I met Lisa as a student in a Phase 3 class I taught several years ago, I was impressed by her enthusiasm and understanding of Rolfing. Since becoming certified, the two if us have occasionally discussed how she could be more involved with DIRI. I'm thrilled she decided to come forward to help our organization. She is intelligent, curious, and discerning. All are qualities that will make her an effective board member. I encourage you to cast your vote for Lisa".

I was introduced to Rolfing due to my first profession as an executive Sous Chef for a world renowned restaurant in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As I worked my way up from a prep cook to the sous chef quickly, I had to learn to take “the heat in the kitchen” quickly.
I learned about budgets, management, and how to run a successful business. I had a fall at work and was not getting better, when I ended up in my now mentor's office for Rolfing. A few sessions later I had decided to quit my job as a chef.
At the next appointment I asked if he thought I could become a Rolfer and he said “I have been waiting for you to ask!” I started the enrollment process and before I knew it I was on my way to Boulder. Once in school I realized I had found my true calling in life and couldn’t wait to get started. I had a difficult time with the tests due to my dyslexia and to my surprise the school was willing to work with me in a way I could prove I knew the material. I knew I wanted to help others within the Rolfing community because I had been helped.
My father has owned and run his own businesses for as long as I can remember. I knew one day I would have my own Rolfing practice and be successful. I went out on my own in late 2019 and also became the president of our condo association. In the spring of 2020 I bought my mentors office and have been running Reagan the Rolfer at the Rolfing Center ever since. My father has been a wonderful business mentor and I hope I to help Rolfers with the business side of things, as well as the traditional teachings. In Spring of 2023 I completed my advanced training and have been feeling the call to help with future Rolfers as I was helped. From Libby Eason: "I met Reagan during the Advanced Training taught by Tessy Brungardt and Valerie Berg in Albuquerque, NM. She is smart and energetic, and I believe will serve the Board and our Rolfing community well if elected, and I support her candidacy." |
