We invite you to join us, Lisa Fairman & Stefan Knight, for an in-person Rolf Movement™ Integration workshop in Boulder Colorado, April 12th through 23rd, 2021. “Lean into Movement” is a two-week immersive experience exploring how the Rolfing Structural Integration series goals can be attained with movement, rather than manipulation, as the main portal for change and transformation. This class is open to all interested movement practitioners from allied professions with instructor approval.

Through experientials, exchanging sessions, group movements and discussions participants will:

  • Develop skills to strategize and facilitate principle-driven sessions that progress in a series towards clear embodiment and coordinative function
  • Learn skill sets to work with individual clients and with groups
  • Cultivate the art of language and layering of cues to evoke and support clients' exploration
  • Enhance personal perceptual and coordinative awareness and embodiment,
  • Explore and contextually apply the current neuroscience understanding around long-lasting transformational change; including Porges’s, Godard’s, and Van Der Kolk’s work
    And last but not least-
  • Find time to unwind, expand and exhale after this intense year

We are excited to be offering this class in person. Lisa taught at the Rolf Institute this January and feels comfortable offering this class and teaching in-person, having observed how the school organized and worked with the students and the faculty during this time of Covid.

About the Instructors

Lisa Fairman is a Certified Advanced Rolfer™ and Rolf Movement™ Practitioner in practice in Helena MT since 1998. Known for her gentle hands and clear touch Lisa approaches her work from a perspective of evoking change and eliciting curiosity and ease. Lisa's ongoing studies and long-term interests include: working with the viscera; understanding and modulating the social nervous system; integrating trauma; and offering community Rolf Movement® classes and somatic meditations. She is a faculty member of the Rolf Institute teaching Rolfing® Structural Integration and Rolf Movement Integration. "My teaching and practice are influenced and supported by my deep experience with nature; my dance and yoga background; Biodynamic crania-sacral therapy; by all my amazing teachers and their teachers; my previous profession of wildlife biology and ecology; and fundamentally, who I am as a person.”

Stefan Knight is a Certified Advanced Rolfer™, Rolf Movement™ Practitioner and a Masters Certified Pilates Instructor and has maintained a practice on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts since 2001. In addition to being passionate about cultivating shifts in perception and coordination with his clients Stefan is particularly interested in the social and psychological implications on our movement vocabularies” and therefore our the general sense of I can” in the world. His perspective is informed by studies in Functional Medicine, pain science, shock injuries, rehabilitation, osteopathic manual therapies and a lifetime of athletics, fitness and play.

We, Lisa and Stefan, teach from a place of kindness, patience and, at times, playfulness! A key premise we hold and bring forth in our work is that, when we truly listen to and are with our body - our sensations - and provide space and time, we connect more with our health, vitality, and essence. This perspective is found in many healing traditions and lineages across the ages and around the world. We would love for you to come join us in this exploration.

Rolf Movement Certification is open to all SI practitioners from IASI approved schools. This class is open to all interested movement practitioners from allied professions with instructor approval. This workshop offers 10 credits toward the 30 day Rolf Movement Certification and is part one of a possible three module certification process. These modules may be taken independently or sequentially. This class fulfills the Rolf Movement requirement for Advance Training, and earns 75 NCBTMB Continuing Education Hours

Why become Rolf Movement® Certified?

Rolf Movement Certification Training is a distinct and complimentary program to the Basic and Advanced Rolfing Structural Integration programs.

Expanding movement education reflects the increased role that an understanding of gravity orientation, perception, coordination, expressivity, and nervous system regulation plays in determining lasting shifts in posture and function. Further, teaching Rolfers™ to understand, embody, and articulate these perspectives serves the greater DIRI mission to educate the world about Rolfing Structural Integration. Rolf Movement Integration is still a young field but one which distinguishes Rolfing from other brands of structural integration. Rolf Movement Integration links ongoing discoveries in the study of neuroscience and motor patterns to the legacy of Dr. Rolf.

Prerequisites

  • Open to all Certified Rolfers and graduates of a IASI approved school.
  • Open to Allied Professions with Instructor approval.
  • Basic Training students must have completed Phase II prior to enrollment.
