Summary

Details

6-week class starting November 2nd and going through December 15th.
(Thursday, November 25th, Thanksgiving, is a day off)

The hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 PM to 6:30 PM Pacific Time, with an additional 2 hrs/week for student homework/reading/video/practice sessions etc.

Fascial mobilization is an effective strategy for integrating structure. Fascial work, however, is only one of many tools available in structural integration. In Rolf Movement Integration, we expand our toolkit by including evocative language, visualization, and movement prompts. Using this interactive approach, we help clients achieve an enhanced sense of body awareness and improved coordination.

In this 6-week online workshop, you will expand your skillset as a structural integration practitioner. You will learn how:

  • Rolf's 10 session recipe builds a step-by-step restoration of optimal function.
  • Rolf's goals can be evoked in the absence of fascial mobilization.
  • We can clarify these goals (and how to evoke them) on and off the table.
  • Self-care can be designed to mirror the goals of the 10-session series.

WHAT THE CLASS ENTAILS:

We will cover topics such as:
  • Hubert Godard's Tonic Function model.
  • Recent scientific discoveries in the fields of biomechanics, perception, and coordination.
  • How anatomical structures contribute to inherent body movement intelligence.
  • How body movement intelligence fits into an SI series.
  • How we include self-care into each session of a series.
  • How clients learn to discern and value non-effortful body movement intelligence.
Students will be guided through exercises for deepening their own body awareness.

Students will learn relevant Rolf Movement Integration sessions and self-care practices, demonstrated live and through a video presentation. These sessions will be performed by students on their own clients, followed by class debriefings.

Students will be provided with illustrated guides containing detailed descriptions of all movement integration strategies presented.

Video and reading materials will be provided to deepen students' theoretical understanding of the subject matter presented.
