Course Number:
RMW1.25
Instructor(s):
Per Haaland
In this 6-week online workshop beginning January 20th and going through February 27, 2025, you will expand your skill set as a structural integration practitioner.
Zoom meeting every Monday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:30pm Pacific Time, and students will have an additional 2.5 hours of home study each week.
You will learn how:
Dr. Rolf's 10-session recipe builds a step-by-step restoration of optimal function.
Dr. Rolf's goals can be evoked in the absence of fascial mobilization.
We can clarify these goals (and how to evoke them) on and off the table.
Self-care can be designed to mirror the goals of the series.
The workshop will be a combination of therapeutic techniques and experiential exercises supported by lectures and discussions.
Fascial mobilization is an effective strategy for integrating structure.
Fascial work, however, is only one of many tools available in structural integration. In Rolf Movement Integration, we expand our tool kit by including visualization, evocative language, and movement prompts.
Using this interactive approach, we help clients achieve an enhanced sense of body awareness and improved coordination.
Lectures and discussions will cover topics such as:
Recent scientific discoveries in the fields of biomechanics, perception, and coordination.
How anatomical structures contribute to inherent body movement intelligence.
How body movement intelligence fits into an SI series.
How we include self-care into each session of a series.
How clients learn to discern and value non-effortful body movement intelligence.
Experiential Exercises: Students will be guided through exercises for deepening their own body awareness.
Therapeutic Techniques: Students will learn relevant Rolf Movement Integration sessions and self-care practices, demonstrated live and through video presentations. These sessions will be performed by students on their own clients, followed by class debriefings. Students will be provided with illustrated guides containing detailed descriptions of all movement integration strategies presented.
Assigned Readings and Videos: Video and reading materials will be provided to deepen students' theoretical understanding of the subject matter presented.
