Details

The Volumetric Pelvis and The Volumetric Thorax are complimentary workshops in which we examine the functional, structural, and perceptual relationships of these two segments of the body.

In this class, I will present a new model of seeing that takes elements of Godard's G & G' model, Flury's Tilt & Shift model, and Dr. Rolf's Two Way Operator model to create specific guidelines for our interventions. You will also gain a practical understanding of the role that fluids play in both supporting our structure and facilitating movement that is expressive and expansive.

The Volumetric Approach integrates the taxonomies of Rolfing® into a comprehensive understanding of the human system and expands our thinking about what the practice of Structural Integration can offer to our clients.

About the Instructor

Juan David Vélez has been a Faculty member for the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® for the last 25 years. He actively teaches all classes, from Phase 1 to Advanced Training, including Rolf Movement® and Life Sciences. His passion lies in the philosophical framework of the work and as a teacher, he strives to speak to all different types of learners, holding the space for the intuitive, subtle, and empathetic, while also speaking the language of the linear and anatomical.
