Connie Christie is a Certified Rolfer in Mar Vista

Hello!
Currently accepting new clients.    As a classical rolfer, I follow Dr. Rolf's session progression of the "10 session recipe". Depending on your needs and goals, I can offer other therapies such as acupuncture, Neutral Emotional Technique (NET) and homeopathy.

About me:  Native Angeleno practicning manual therapy since 2001. I completed my Rolfing certificate in 2006. To achieve a better holistic understanding of the mind-body I studied Chinese Medicine eventually graduating with a doctorate in Portland, Oregon. As an eternal student, my studies have broaden to include NET (Neural Emotional Technique)  and homeopathy as I discovered that the emotional, subconscious part of us must be acknowledged and integrated to allow more freedom and acceptance within ourselves.

About you:  I work with clients that range from having physical complaints from injury, pregnancy and poor posture to those seeking a somatic experience to release stagnation from stuck energy, trauma, and patterns.  You want to feel more comfortable, integrated and alive.

About rolfing: Can you imagine?... What it feels like to be in your body and to feel light, balanced, fluidity in your movement, no stiffness or pain, space, at ease with yourself, others & within the gravitational field of earth.
If you can imagine this, then you understand the benefits and goals of Rolfing.
Some rolfing goals:
Relieve chronic pain & stress
Improve flexibility
Balance muscle strengthening
Heightened body awareness
Efficient muscle coordination
Refinement of movement patterns
Release of stuck patterns: physically and emotionally
Good posture without effort
Ease in activities of daily living
Continually improved well-being
Greater sense of mind-body congruence
Enhance your performance at sports, dance, music, yoga
Prevent tension, injury, surgery
Greater self-embodiment

How to achieve rolfing goals: Meaningful fascial manipulation gives the body a chance to realign itself, returning its various segments to a balanced, functional, pain free, adaptable structure that is uplifted by gravity.
Insightful pressure stretches and guides fascia to a place of easier movement. Just the right amount of pressure is used where connective tissue is restricted to induce relief and better alignment. Once a part has been brought back closer to where it belongs anatomically, a new movement pattern of greater ease can be established.
A created space for meaningful release and integration.
