Allison Distler, Certified Advanced Rolfer

My Approach:

I came to Rolfing SI with a curiosity, 'could structural integration help me feel stronger, and more centered in my inner, emotional life?"  After several years of studying psychology and being involved in body-centered psychotherapy, I came up against personal growth walls that 'talking about' could not longer help to solve for me.  I bring a unique intuition and knowledge of body-centered psychology in the background of my practice, along with deep interest in how family history informs present structure, and how a body organizies around belilef systems.  I work structurally with an eye on how our inner psychic life has a profound effect on how we organize and carry our bodies through the world.

I have a background working with infants and small children which has informed my touch, but also reminds me that we've all come through the stress of dependency, including birth.  For me, it is a joy to explore how some of our earliest physical experiences continue to inform our current structure (in posture, movement, ways we hold ourselves, and even how tissue organizes.)

I see clients in both Indianapolis and Bloomington, IN.  Please contact me for information about my practice or to schedule a session.   You can learn more at allisondistler.com
