Shannon W Murphy is a Certified Rolfer in Portland

Shannon is currently accepting new clients at Wise River Rolfing.  She is a Certified Rolfer and graduated from the Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder.  Shannon practices with intuition and skill, guided by assessments, her heart and strong but gentle listening hands to guide you toward more ease and alignment in your body and thus your life.   ### ### She has her BS in Environmental Science and Policy, moved on to get her Masters in Education and taught 3rd and 5th grade for a chapter.  She loves to learn and share what she's experienced and learned with others.  There is certainly an element of education/teaching that happens in the Rolfing process that is part of her passion, helping folks find new ways to inhabit their bodies that support them ### .   ### She's been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2010 and also as an artist who started and grew a production pottery business in Southern Maine.  She found Rolfing due to an overuse injury to her shoulder and was searching for a different way to be in the world.  Rolfing shifted things on all levels and she decided this was the path forward.   ### ### She has training in Scar Work, Cranial Sacral, is a Reiki Master, studied Anatomy Trains, and pelvic focused work.  She's engaged with martial arts over the years, pilates, strength training, yoga.  She has hiked the 46 4K footers of New England, participated in Mini Tri's and open water swimming events.  She's studied non-violent communication and is working with a self empowerment group for marginalized communities in her area called PAC ME.  She continues to create pottery when the spark is ignited for pleasure and to support local non-profits or fundraisers.   ### ### In her non Rolfing time, she enjoys 5 Rhythms dance, clay sculpture, walking outside (particularly in nature her dog Fiadh), being with her 3 cats, saunaing, ocean dips, networking and connecting with community, gardening and sometimes, just laying around doing nothing.
