Details
This course brings together elements of visceral manipulation, vascular manipulation, neural manipulation, joint mobilization, and fascial manipulation in a regional and functional format to restore ease and depth of breath. It also teaches several osteopathic soft tissue treatment methods. Topics include,
Anatomy and embryology of the pleural surfaces,
Assessment and Treatment of pleural adhesions
Assessment and treatment of pleural contractures
The course emphasizes the assessment and balancing of tensions in vasculature, nerves, and airways separately into each lobe of each lung, ensuring a personalized and effective treatment approach for each patient.
Assessment and treatment separately of elements of the cest wall including sun, superficial fascia, injvesting fascia, bones, cartilages, joints, nerves, vasculature and parietal pleura.
Assessment and balancing tensions in the chest wall with tensions within each lung.
Assessment and treatment of the superioride planes of the respiratory and inferior gldiaphragm.
Assessment and treatment of the vascularture and innervation of the respiratory diaphragm.

About the Instructor

Jeffrey Burch received a BA in biology from the University of Oregon in 1975. He then trained at The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® in Boulder, Colorado, and received his Certification as a Rolfer in 1977.
Jeffrey Burch received his Rolfing Advanced Certification in 1990, after which he again began studying at the University of Oregon where he received a second BA in Psychology in 1993 and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology in 1995. His Master’s thesis “Alexithymia and Dissociation” explores topics related to psychosomatic conditions.

Jeffrey has been a member of the Rolf Institute Board of Directors. He served for many years on the Rolf Institute Ethics Committee. He founded the International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI) Yearbook journal. He is a member of the Rolf Institute research committee.
In 1998, Jeffrey began intensively studying CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute, Cranial Manipulation with French Osteopath Alain Gehin, and Visceral Manipulation with Jean-Pierre Barral and his associates. Jeffrey completed the apprenticeship to teach visceral manipulation. He teaches internationally and offers foundational and advanced courses in assessment and treatment methods.
Starting in 2010, he began developing groundbreaking new methods to assess and release adhesions and contractures in joint capsules, bursas, and tendon sheaths. He now teaches these methods.
